Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store

About

The Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store accepts donations of new and used building materials, furniture, appliances, and home goods, and sells them in the store to raise money for Habitat home-building projects.

Green Business Features

  • The Clark County Habitat for Humanity Store accepts, on average, 60 loads of donated goods every day that would otherwise end up in the landfill. Then they resell as much of the incoming items as possible in their 22,000 sq. ft. retail space. In 2015, the store raised enough money to fund the construction of about 5 homes for low-income families.
  • After reusing as much incoming material as possible, the Restore recycles much of the rest, including wood, rigid plastic and metal.
  • Rather than turn away donations of textiles, toys, etc., the ReStore partnered with the Arc of SW Washington to offer an onsite collection box for those items.

Year Green Biz certified: 2016
