Green Business Morning Blend is an opportunity to network and discuss business environmental initiatives in an informal setting. This month, learn about what's new at Columbia Springs! Columbia Springs is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to providing outdoor recreation and science education for the community. Certified as a green business in 2015, they manage 100 acres of forest, streams, lakes, and wetlands, and over two miles of hiking trails next to the Columbia River in the City of Vancouver. Columbia Springs strives to offer a unique setting and educational experiences that foster a greater awareness of the natural world and inspire stewardship.
The discussion will cover the history of the site and the programs at Columbia Springs. Their programs include educational programs, Repair Clark County, and Salmon in the Classroom. There will be a slight focus on stormwater management. Columbia Springs has several features to manage stormwater including a green roof, native plant gardens, a rain garden, rain barrels, a pervious surface for the parking lot, and the hatchery. Come join us for a tour of the Vancouver Trout Hatchery and see how water is managed on the site.
