The Maintenance Shop is considered a paperless shop keeping files in digital format.
The site has reduced energy consumption by setting outside lighting on timers to turn off during daylight and is looking into retrofitting lighting to more efficient means.
Durable dishware is available onsite for meetings, lunches and special occasions.
New waste sorting stations for garbage, recycle and food waste have been implemented in break rooms and driver areas to improve recycling.
The janitorial company uses environmentally preferable cleaning supplies.
Safety is a top priority and part of the company culture. Monthly safety meetings are held and signed meeting logs are kept to ensure all employees attend.
Strict standards are held for safe handling, use and disposal of materials (hazardous and non-hazardous) at this site. Manifest logs are kept for thermofluids, monthly documentation is kept for paint room and welding materials and hazardous wastes.
Route drivers are trained in identification of hazardous and prohibited wastes and procedures if encountered on route.
Oil life is extended for the vehicle fleet and waste oil is sent to a company that will recycle used oil.
The site installed a Clean Energy Mobile CNG station capable of fueling 12-15 trucks. Currently 8 CNG trucks being used.
Catch basins and oil separators are cleaned out on an as needed basis.
